Barnabas Project Centre
The Barnabas Project Centre offers daytime activities for adults with physical and associated disabilities.
Our primary objective for the centre is to offer people with disabilities a wide choice of opportunities to develop existing skills, try new ones and allow the individual to reach their full potential. We also provide the opportunity to meet people and make new friends.
Barnabas caters for up to 30 students a day on a full or part-time basis and is a centre for the National Proficiency Test Council Certificate Scheme.
Activities at Barnabas
All the activities at the centre are designed to educate, motivate and create a sense of achievement but above all they are fun. Learning new skills helps to build self-confidence which, in turn, leads to an improved quality of life. Some of the activities on offer are:
- Computer Facilities – including access to the internet
- Independent living skills
- Horse Riding and Carriage Driving
- Music
- Numeracy & Literacy skills
Whenever possible we work together with the local community for activities and projects, encouraging independence of thought and actions.
Qualified training and support staff oversee the person centred plan for each student. This identifies what the person really wants to achieve and how we can support them to reach their full potential.
