How We Are Funded

MEETING THE DEMANDS OF CHANGE

Over the past few years the pattern of public sector provisions of services for children and adults with disabilities has been changing.

WHERE TO START - WHO PAYS?

In the past, many people who used our services have been funded directly by their local authority in some way. Today, funding routes are changing; families and those using services have greater choice and control over who provides their services. We are always happy to discuss people's specific needs with either themselves or their family or guardian and can offer useful guidance.

Diverse Abilities Plus has the knowledge and expertise to meet these changes and constantly adjust its infrastructure and governance. This ensures it delivers effectively what is needed by those it serves, and that it can also successfully provide for the growing numbers of those with physical and learning difficulties within the community.

As in all walks of life today, the work of Diverse Abilities Plus is characterised by change. The business and direction of the charity is impacted by changes in:

  • The needs and expectations of those who have disabilities
  • Who funds us
  • Regulation
  • Government and Local Authority policy

OUR FUNDING NEEDS

Whilst state derived income contributes to our day to day running costs, funds for developing buildings or other resources must come from our charitable income.

Therefore we actively seek donations for new buildings, building improvements and specialist equipment and support services.  We have an on-going development programme.

We are always in need of new equipment for the Children and Adults services that we support.

If you think that you could support us to make this happen then please contact us.
