Shapes at Dorset Scope
Shapes is our domiciliary service for children and young people and was established in 2004.
Shapes is involved in supporting children and young people in two main ways. Firstly in the community, for example, supporting the child/young person to access youth club or leisure activities. Secondly, supporting and caring for children or young people in their own home at any time of the day or night.
Staff are trained to provide support in all areas of personal care and this could include medical areas such as gastrostomy care, complex epilepsy, oxygen therapy and oral suction.
Each family who accesses Shapes have a small team of regular staff, which enables staff to know the child/young person and their family well, and allows a trusting relationship to be built.
